Here it is. I got the author copies of The Wrong Hill to Die On from Poisoned Pen Press yesterday. It’s always a happy occasion to finally see your work in actual print.
Until that day, the fact that you have a book coming out is rather surreal. This is the longest Alafair book I’ve written, so it’s fatter than any of the others. It was a heck of a lot of work, too. Finally having it in hand makes it worth all the toil and trouble. Right now I’m in the midst of getting myself ready for the publicity blitz. Be sure and check out my events schedule (click the link above), and if I’m going to be in your vicinity, please come by and say hi.
Wrong Hill isn’t officially launched until the first of November, but you can get it from the press Right Now! Until it’s available at your local bookstore, or at all the online venues in paper and/or electronically, you can whet your appetite by clicking on “About This Book”, under the cover thumbnail to the left, where you can read the first chapter.
Also: Poisoned Pen Press is currently offering the one installment of several of their series as FREE ebooks, in hopes that you will enjoy them so much that you’ll want to buy the rest. My first Alafair novel, The Old Buzzard Had It Coming, was one for many weeks, but Amazon changed the price on Buzzard to $2.51 recently. BUT, now they’re offering the 3rd book, The Drop Edge of Yonder, for .99 and i-tunes is giving it away as a free download. I can’t keep up. But I’d better post the change. Drop Edge is just one of many other wonderful mysteries that Poisoned Pen is offering as an inexpensive or free ebook. What a great opportunity to discover new authors and series. Yes, I discovered your writing via a daily free Kindle e-books notification, and I was immediately drawn by the title of your first book. Half-way through the “Buzzard”, I downloaded the next four books in the series. Just started #3 today, and just found out about #5 and downloaded it! What a wonderful group of books! I certainly hope you will be continuing this series.
I WILL be recommending “Buzzard” to my reading group, as well as my mystery-loving friends.
Have you written other books/series?

Carol, the world needs more people like you. Thank you for the encouraging words. The Alafair Tucker books are all I have in print right now and I do intend to continue this series, at least until all those kids are settled. However, I do have another series in the works right, a modern setting. We shall see how that falls out.
