Thanksgiving is over and Christmas is on the way. In between, I’m back on the road touting the release of All Men Fear Me. If you’re anywhere in the vicinity of one of my appearances this month, I’d love to see you. Oh, and remember, books make great Christmas presents, especially if they’re signed by the author.
On December 2 I’ll be doing an event with Jon Talton, and Betty Webb at Burton Barr Central Library in Phoenix. I’m really looking forward to that one. Betty’s promoting her latest Gunn Zoo mystery, the Puffin of Death, and Jon just released A Brief History of Phoenix. If there is anything I love it’s history, brief or not. I’ll be in Gilbert, Arizona, with Betty, Fred Ramsay, and Eileen Brady on the 7th, with Betty at Changing Hands Bookstore in Tempe on the 8th, at the Scottsdale Civic Center Library with a bunch of authors on the 10th, and back at Tempe Public Library on the 12th. If there is anyone in the Phoenix area who hasn’t had a chance to see me somewhere, well, I just don’t know why not. Check out the Events page, above, for times and details of all my public appearances through 2015 and a little into 2016.
Speaking of promotional travel, I did an appearance at the Salazar-Ajo library in Ajo, AZ, on November 20, and had a tremendous time. Ajo is located two and a half hours west and south of Phoenix, heading toward Baja California. It is located…let us say, in the middle of nowhere. But in my experience, the small towns in the middle of nowhere provide the best audiences of all, so appreciative of your time and effort. I’d make the trip back to Ajo in a blink.
And last but not least, today is December 1, so it’s time to add another recipe to the Recipe page on this blog. One of the great traditions of the holidays is the Cookie Exchange, whereby friends all get together to trade cookies and camaraderie. Everyone brings a couple dozen of a particular type of cookie and everyone goes home with one or two cookies of each and every kind. What could be more fun? One of the cookie recipes that I like to make for these shindigs is my late sister-in-law LaNell’s Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies. They are easy and couldn’t be more delicious. So head on over to the Recipes and give them a try. You will not be disappointed.
