DONIS CASEY: Write Errant

Wondering where I’ve been, Dear Readers? I have been managing to do my blogging duty over on Type M 4 Murder and on Fatal Foodies, but my very own personal site has been sitting around forlorn, waiting for me, since early in December. We’re still dealing with some health problems, which seems to be sucking the will to blog right out of me.

It’s not like I’ve been totally MIA, though. I’ve been trying to add some perky new features to the site, and meeting with sad failure in several instances. If you click on “Preorder”, below the Sky Took Him cover image to the right, it’ll take you to the publisher’s site, but the publisher hasn’t put the order feature on my new book yet. Frustrating. You can still order it, though, from my publisher, or any bookstore or online site like Amazon or B&N.

In the new “Gallery” (link above), I have managed to add photos, but I’ve not been having any luck at all with the movie. You’ll see that at this point, there is a black screen in the Movie spot. I gather that the little u-tubish movie that I keep uploading is too big. It’s supposed to be only 10 mb. I don’t know how big that is. I keep shortening the clip, and at last try, I’m down to 2.5 minutes. Still too big. I won’t be having another Website lesson from my local Apple store until January 12, so until then, if I manage to get a clip loaded, it’ll be sheer luck. So send some good technological thoughts my way and be patient with me.

And since you can’t repeat yourself enough when it comes to publicity, let me remind you that I’ll be signing books from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on January 10 at the Oro Valley Book Festival. I’ll also be moderating a panel called “So You Want to Write a Mystery”, along with Elizabeth Gunn and Mike Murphy, for the Arizona Authors Association, up in Glendale, AZ, on Jan. 14.

And most importantly, the official launch of The Sky Took Him is at 2 p.m. at Poisoned Pen Bookstore on January 17. Please come if you can. There will be pie.
